Warwickshire Rural Community Council Chair, West Midlands RCC Network

Kay has held the position of Chief Officer for Warwickshire Rural Community Council since February 2007. Prior to becoming Chief Officer, Kay had been with WRCC since April 2000 as Company Secretary and Deputy Chief Officer.

Her current role is varied and challenging but she is well supported by her team of 17 staff, many of them also part time. The RCC adheres strongly to its ethos of partnership working, maintaining good relations with fellow Infrastructure Consortium members, parish councils, county and district councils and many other voluntary and community groups.

Warwickshire RCC membership of the West Midlands RCC Network is fully supported by their Board of Trustees and seen as a pivotal way to ensure rural needs are addressed at a regional level.

With an accountancy qualification Kay’s employment background was solely in private industry until moving to the not for profit sector in 2000 with jobs at WRCC and Leicester Newarke Housing Association. She maintains contact with the commercial world with a job at an engineering company.

In her spare time, Kay is a member of her local town twinning Association and Treasurer for a local windmill preservation group. Holidays are spent sailing with her husband on their Moody 34, Moorglade.
