Community Council of Shropshire
Julia spent her entire career working in the voluntary sector (first in London, then in North Wales and latterly in Shropshire) across a variety of themed areas including children, ex-offenders, the environment and community development.Julia has been the Chief Executive of the Community Council since December 1999. The Community Council of Shropshire is the hub for many voluntary sector organisations and community groups (such as Parish Planning groups) in the County as well as individuals such as carers. She also hosts the Outreach Officer for the voluntary sector organisations in Bridgnorth
Julia's role involves working at a local, regional and National level. She currently chairs the West Midlands Rural Community Council Network.
In Shropshire, Julia is the current Chair of the Voluntary Sector Assembly and represent the voluntary sector on the Leadership Board of the Shropshire Local Strategic Partnership. Prior to this she was a member of the LSP Management group from the time where she took up her post in 1999. Julia provides the Secretariat for the Shropshire Voluntary Sector Health and Social Care Forum and is a member of the Village Halls Network Steering group and represents the sector on the Compact Monitoring group having been the signatory for the sector on the original published Shropshire Compact.
