Community Council of Staffordshire
Chris joined the Community Council of Staffordshire in February 2007.Chris’ background is very diverse ranging from various marketing and sales roles to Regional Director management in the Middle East.
Between 2000-05, Chris acted as Regional Director in the Middle East, working for a company named Borouge. Borouge is owned jointly by Austrian OMV and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. His job involved managing the sales of speciality grades of polyethylene and polypropylene to over 20 Middle Eastern and East African countries. Having lived in Abu Dhabi City in the United Arab Emirates during this time, he and his family found it very exciting and very challenging, and definitely appreciated the changes living in a Muslim culture compared with the UK.
On returning, and having decided on a career change, Chris accepted an offer to work for Age Concern, and subsequently, the Community Council of Staffordshire.
Chris’ vision for the organisation is to strengthen and enhance the Community Council. He aims to make the organisation more independent, and more robust whilst still continuing to build on the quality services afforded to the residents of Staffordshire.
