About Us
The Network has been developed in response to the government trend towards regionalisation. It aims to ensure that rural need and issues are represented to regional bodies/agencies in an informed and co-ordinated way. In addition to further joint working between the four RCCs, the Network will work closely with other local and regional partners in consulting on and reflecting rural issues. Its development is an on going process. The Chief Officers of the four RCCs have been meeting informally for some time, have developed combined protocols and a business plan.
Purpose:
- Assist RCCs in combating disadvantage and enhancing service delivery to local communities
- Reflect the interests of rural communities to regional partners
- Facilitate the engagement of local communities in the regional strategic agenda
- Share expertise and good practice amongst the four RCCs
- Build capacity of the four RCCs to deliver services with equity across the region
- The Network is an informal, non constituted body.
